Funeral Mass for Maria Tan

Maria Paz King Tan passed away peacefully in her sleep at the age of 103.5 years. Maria will be missed by her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husbands, Miguel Lim (deceased in 1946) and Icasiano Tan (deceased in 2015) and 4 siblings.

Maria was born on September 25, 1922, into the King family. She grew up with her four brothers in Manila, Philippines. She migrated to the U.S. in 1978 and moved to San Francisco with her daughter Carol in Spring of 1983. Maria is survived by three daughters and one son, Lourdes Ozehoski (Ray Ozehoski+), Andres Lim (Ofelia Gecale+), Erlinda Perot (Michael Perot+), and Carolina Tan; grandchildren Carl, Nicole, Michael, Marianne, Laura and Marguerite; and great grandchildren Zachary, Raymond, Chiara Marie, Isabella, Elliott, Gwenyth and Lydia.

She has been a volunteer with Old St. Mary’s for the longest time, sharing her wisdom and joy. She was also a volunteer at the Paulist Bookstore.

Maria's family wishes to thank all of the staff at Mendelsohn House where Maria lived for the last 40 years, where she enjoyed living independently.

A funeral mass will be held at the Old St. Mary’s Cathedral, 660 California Street, San Francisco, at 10:30 am on April 18, 2026, followed by a celebration of life luncheon at Far East Cafe at 631 Grant Avenue, San Francisco.
